Install blue screen on Toshiba Satellite

Any ideas why? Anybody know where I should start looking to figure this out? I installed the latest BIOS update for the laptop. I have tried installing from booting off the CD and from running it from Windows XP. Same results.
Suggestions?

Can you go into some detail about the problem as such, and any error codes if possible?

I would love to but it BSOD faster than I can see anything. Can you point me to error logs and I would be happy to share any information I can with you.
Thanks!

If you can access Windows (try Safe Mode), then go throughn System Properties, and find "Startup and Recovery" - make sure that Automatic restart is NOT ticked, so that the BSOD stays there :o)
That should cure that problem. Also if you can boot up in Safe Mode, it might be a software problem.

Ok. I fixed the auto reboot option and now I am looking at the BSOD. Seems that the message I get is "The BIOS in this system is not fully ACPI compliant. Please contact your system vendor for an updated BIOS."
Am I SOL? I did install the latest BIOS from Toshiba and the laptop is less than a year old. Are they saying Vista needs newer hardware? Any work arounds?
Thanks

Unfortunately there are no workarounds presently for this known issue, your best bet is to hope the OEM provides an update BIOS with support for Vista or try Windows Vista on another system. -- Andre Extended64 | http://www.extended64.com Blog | http://www.extended64.com/blogs/andre http://spaces.msn.com/members/adacosta FAQ for MS AntiSpy http://www.geocities.com/marfer_mvp/FAQ_MSantispy.htm

Try disabling APM in BIOS.

Unfortunately the Toshiba BIOS isn't that smart.

I see. I used that workaround successfully on another machine, not a Toshiba.
I do have an older Toshiba Satellite 1905-S301 on which Vista build 5270 installed with only a minor problem getting the touchpad working.
